Habitat Most fishing for salmon takes place in rivers during the spawning runs of spring and summer.  They are also taken in estuaries and tidal pools of the rivers prior to beginning their runs.
Size Grilse average 4-8 lbs.  Adults run from 10-20 lbs, with a rare catch pushing 50 lbs.
