I was watching tv and they were catching these blunt-nose dolphins w/hook&line and gaffing them in the nose and laughing about it.

Those dolphins were Pompano Dolphin aka Dorado. They are not mammals, these guys are fish, and very good eating I might add. The bulls have a blunt nose, very distinctive, where as the females have a more fishlike look , Those guys were happy and laughing because they were happy they got in to them

Do you mean a porpoise? I thought those were protected? I have never heard of porpoise meat for sale in the US, but the Japanese probably eat them.
The only dolphin I heard about eating is the Mahi-Mahi, which is often called a dolphin but it's actually a fish

They are a game fish also known as a dorado or MahiMahi. 70 mph rainbows and are great fun to stalk and catch and they taste sooooo good. They are not gaffing and killing Dolphins ( mammals) or Porpoises.

contact your local dnr office the should be able to give you a list of hatcheries

Call your DNR office first to see if its legal, then go to a fish hatchery and purchase your fish from there. The reason you check with DNR as some fish species are not allowed to be put into ponds by the public.
I have heard of the conservation department not only stocking a pond for free, but giving advise on the types of fish to be stocked. It was a pretty good size pond... not one you would have in the back yard as a water feature.

One is a Dolfin (Dorado, Mahi-mahi the one's with a blunt head) and a Dolphin which is like FLIPPER. One's a Fish The one with the F) and one's a Mammal (the one with the P).
It's Crappie round here.
