Try hard stale bread that was soaked in sardine oil,and chum with cat food or balled up chicken mash. Punch holes in tuna can and try that

Catsfish love fish. I would use some cut shad or live large minnows. Back hook them so they still move around and make sure you fish the deep pockets, points and any underwater structure you can find.

During the day cats bite just as good as at night but you have to find them. Normally they'll be in the deep pockets or channels or if you have undercut banks they hiude in there sometimes. The rule I follow is if you don't get a bite or something move on. Work the entire river that you can

If you want to stick with liver use the chicken and put it in a panty hose bag just big enough to nake about a 2" ball and tie it off around the top of the shank of your hook. It'll keep the bait in place and does double duty as a chum bag. good luck and tight lines!

Flatheads and large channels are strictly predators and won't take "garbage" bait. Use live bluegill to target the big boys. If you want small channels, any strong odored bait is fine. Ripe shrimp for example. Happy fishing.
