just wanted to see of the walleye anglers what do you prefer, catching walleye through the ice or in a boat/shore ?
boat is my vote!!!
more water to cover and different ways to fish...but still fish hard when the ice arrives ...

I've only shore fished for them. This year will be my first ice experience but for trout, unless I head to Idaho for walleye under the ice.

Up north in Idaho(on border of Utah) is Oneida Resevoir where they hold annual Walleye tourneys in spring. The Bear River winds 100's of miles down through Cache Valley(where I live) forming many lakes, ponds & tributaries. It eventually flows into Willard Bay where the MONSTERS are...I rarely fish there cause you need a boat. Between Oneida Resevour and Willard Bay there are 3 sub stations(dams). The species you can catch in this water system are all offered by Bounty except for Salmon & Pike...once in a while you can snag a Musky. You can imagine how much fun I have!!!!!!

Both have their perks, but I too would take the boat for Walleyes.
You picked a fine time to leave me loose wheel
