Try cashing a Canadian check in the USA
Any one else in the USA having problems cashing/depositing checks from Bounty Fishing? My credit union charges $20 due to it being a foriegn check. Just curious.

It.s says U.Sfunds on the check washinton mutual has taken up to 2500 in Bounty checks no problem ,bank america on the other hand makes it difficult, i guess its just the individual banks policy's .

Thanks guys. I'll go back and butt heads with the credit union. Maybe bang 'em over the head with my husband's tackle box (if I can lift it). :-)

if you know anyone with a commercial account rather than a personal account......deposit it there. That is a really easy way to do it.....if you trust the person you give it to!

Over $200,000 paid out... no problem. Any delay is a result of one's relationship with their individual bank.

Re: Try cashing a Canadian check in the USA (FOLLOW UP)
Follow up: It appears to just be my credit union. They told me that since they weren't an "international" bank, they had to send foriegn checks though some kind of special routing and pass the charges on to me. I wasn't happy about it but at least I understand it now. I plan on framing the check with a picture and keeping my bragging rights.

Just got mine mailed back to me from Wachovia/ Wells Fargo. We had deposited in an ATM. They have simply asked that we cash/ deposit in person at the counter. No biggie.
