You shouldn't have left. The fish turn on in the afternoon late. I'm telling you the truth. We must have caught a hundred trout during the entire day.Hey,if you get tired of trout, there are plenty of pompano. The 4 pounder ran 50 feet in 1 second, and took me around the boat twice. I never knew pompano could fight so hard.Fishing is off the hook in Sarasota bay.Redfish,Pompano, and trout make for a good day. All on the same lure.

Look who's back on top baby...
And the great part about this fish is Greg and Rodney just showed up and blew right thru my drift. When I gave Greg some good ole fashion ribbing about it he said "I'm just waking em' up for you" Next cast boom... and they got to see me land it!

Don't forget about ol' zabidah he's back on the board. You guys are lucky my boats still in the shop my mechanics dad is very very ill so he has had to set my boat aside for now. I've been fishing with a friend and from shore just to try and compete hopefully my boat will be done asap so I can take my rightful place at #1.

It looks like everyone may be fishing for 2nd place, redfin's 27 will be tough to beat. This weekends weather doesn't look to promising.

Your right Diggy the wind has already picked up here and fishing was worse this afternoon than this morning... That is definitely a big fish

Dont give up on first place Cortez there is a 30 incher on that island, I cant get over there now I blew a injector on my brand new E-tec. So I am only able to fish in the local holes with my trolling motor, and the wind is making that tough.

Greg:
I fished that Island all week including today... biggest fish I got this week was in the middle bay on the 4-5 foot grass... Today sucked... I was excited that the winds were not blowing like I expected but the fish were very few and far between and small.
I will be back there tomorrow and give it one more shot but I'm thinking about going back north to Tampa Bay if the winds will let me

So far every day this week I have caught a bigger fish... At this rate if the tourney lasts another week I might be able to catch Redfin LOL

Went out today could not even catch any baitfish and the fishing was absolute nothing. I have no clue where they went but the fish here right now are gone as of today.

Good luck everyone! Tuesday was so blown out we had 2-3 ft rollers on the flats . John G had got the only trout. On Saturday we went to the Indian River to experience 20-30 mph winds. We caught 12 trout 1 sheepshead 1 jack 1 snook 5 catfish and 3 pigfish. It was a new area for us and could have been real productive if it wasn't for the wind.We had manatees that followed us around all day and they loved their backs to be scratched.Good experience but not the fish that we were looking for.Congrats to all that were able to place in these crappy conditions!
