I have only had braided line snag on a rod guide one time and it was just a few months ago. I had never had this problem before and I could not imagine why. I use Cabela's Ripcord SI+ and that stuff slides through rod guides slicker than snot and as we all know, snot is real slick. Anyway, for some reason, the line was catching just slightly on the guide on the tip of my Shimano Cumara. The Cumara has Fuji Concept Guides and I have never had a problem. I checked the rod tip several times and could not feel a problem but later I used a magnifying glass and discovered a very slight imperfection in the guide. The rod has a lifetime warranty so I called the company, the woman that helped me told me to send it to them, I did, and got new rod. I have not had any problems at all with the new rod.
Take a real close look at your rod guides, there could be a problem. Ceramic rod guides seem to work best for praided line but the titanium rod guides do very well also. Braided line has a bad habit of cutting into rod guides if they are not made to handle braided line. Even if they are made for braided line, a slight imperfection can cause braided line to hang up.
