Largemouth North
Based on the unofficial last weeks results - it looks as though the USA is finally starting to give Ontario a run for their money in the Largemouth North Division!! It is remarkable when you look over the past standings home many times Ontario anglers have cashed a cheque in this division!

Re: Largemouth North
Not sure about the rest of Canada but in Ontario we had a major cold front move in last week Bringing very high winds , lots of rain , some hail , etc...making fishing conditions tough... some of my lakes temp. went from 68 to 55 almost over night.
Thats my excuse!!! lol
Come on Team Ontario ...

Re: Largemouth North
Ahhhh, good observation - that makes sense ... We'll have to wait until the next one to see if the Ontario talent can rise to the top again (weather permitting) ... although I don't know if a hurricane would keep Manitoba from dominating the catfish board. (lol)
cheers,

Re: Largemouth North
I tried but the cold, winds, hail, lightning and thunder harboured me this week got out a couple of times for a few hrs to only be chased off the lk once by rain and thunder, next time was rain thunder lightning and hail ...but dont worry about Ontario..like for most who get lucky from time to time some of us get unlucky sometimes so this week was brutal and I dont even know why I was out there but I did hit a musky in the 1 hr of sun I had..I did manged to catch a few but 16"er was the biggest Lm that would hit for me..this week I am thinkin eyes now ...Point au Baril here I come 50plus walleye days are here...Gl everyone and fish on..

fish on...

Re: Largemouth North
same here, the cold front killed the LM bite. couldn't get anything bigger than 16. although the pike were hitting almost anything i was throwing. water levels are way down here to. last night i was fishing from an old foundation of a house that was flooded almost 60 yrs ago when the st lawrence seaway went through. it was right near an old graveyard that was also flooded out. but thats how low the water level is right now.

Same for me the one day I was able to get out in New Jersey. I went to Lake Hopatcong and the water temp was 51deg to 56deg depending on what cove we fished. Air temp was 37deg when we arived at the lake and was only up to 49deg at noon when the rain came. I was unable to land a LM but did get a number of Chain Pickerel.

Re: Largemouth North
I have given up on Largemouth fishing for the rest of the year here in Michigan. The last few times out have been completely unsuccesful. I am tributing it to the weather changing unless I am just unlucky. Any one have any suggesions for fall fishing largemouths??
In rowboat. No motor. No electronics. Suggestions?

Outside of weedlines. Spinnerbaits and lipless crankbaits. We catch the snot out of em in north Idaho from now until it either ices up or the water levels get too low to launch.

I'll take on Ontario next year didn't find out about this site until late August so far have a top ten and top five should've won week 79 with a 21.82 but my eyes were closed in the pic and for some reason I only took one so I guess I'll switch over to panfish for the winter not sure what there is for tournaments in the winter yet
