Just moved here from Florida, Havnt really caught anything worth while in the last 5 or 6 fishing trips, baby reds and catfish mostly, looking for any help as far as some decent spots to fish around here

I'm from Lake Charles, for salt water go down to hwy 27 and fish the intercoastal. Or Gibbstown, has alot of good spots, Hackberry, Cameron too. For Bass, go up north on Houston River off of Anthony Ferry Rd, in Sulphur / Westlake. Good Luck.

I'm a Lake charles, La. native and a Bassaholic and I can assure you that there very good spots around the area. (Depending on what you want to catch) For freshwater, you should try Calcasieu River, English Bayou, And Houston River. they all produce nice bass, panfish, catfish, gaspergou etc. anywhere south of the Salt water barrier is great for redfish, speckled trout, flounder, etc. just use best judgementand knowledge of fishing for locating fish at different times.
PS. check the pic in my profile for an example of the white crappie i caught this past weekend on Clacasieu river 2.3lbs
