If the Micro Tourney's are to go along with regular tourney's...where are they
All I see for the next 4 weeks are 2 regular tourneys and 2 micro tourney's. What's the schedule for Oct? I can't figure out why we're down to a month to month schedule.

It's Crappie round here.

Third parties who wish to sponsor tournaments request specific species and dates. Currently, it makes no sense to block of the calendar so far in advance…

FYI- LMB week Oct 6 - 12 http://www.bountyfishing.com/enterprise/lmbn44

Re: If the Micro Tourney's are to go along with regular tourney's...where are they
hey richard. I have to say I am impressed with what you are trying to do here. As a fishing nut I love having a reason ( not that you need one) to go target certain species that i normally would not fish as well as the species I do normally fish and to have a chance at winning woney for it at the same time. When you started this site I was blown away by the money that was handed out. I was a little pissed off that I missed all those catfish weeks that AW cleaned up on, basically uncontested, because no one up here even knew about it.....lol.

I am also a small business owner and I can understand that the bounty fishing coffers are not bottomless and the large amounts of cash handed out were ment to get get the ball rolling.
However With the prize money diwindelling and these micro tourneys at $100 for 1st place there is no incentive whats so ever to compete as a 1st place finish would not even cover your expenses. Even the split $500 for 1st place tourneys are not that appealing.
For the most part people who fish do it because they love it, people who torunament fish do it for the chance at a big payout which is disappearing from this site and many other tourneys

I have even heard rumors of the PWT folding after this year. With the rising cost of gas and expenses and dwindleing payouts, the future of tournament fishing is looking bleak.

I am wondering if it is because alot of sponsors are simply walking away from the table? I am vefry curious to hear your thoughts on this?

Re: If the Micro Tourney's are to go along with regular tourney's...where are they
Bounty has held over 100 Tournaments in the past year and participation, distribution, feedback… is constantly being studied.
With respect to "Sponsored Tournaments" It is up to the sponsor to decide the payout, Bounty will only suggest a minimum.

Micros are an entirely separate product. They are geared towards those who are fishing anyway and want to have more fun. They are not meant to cover your fuel…

Look at the evolution of Bounty’s LMB tourneys.

Largemouth Bass originally paid out $1,300

1st $1000
2nd $200
3rd $100

Total $1,300.

Prize money was later increased to $1,650.

1st $1000
2nd $ 300
3rd $200
4th $100
5th $50

Total $1,650.

With the introduction of LMB Regionals prize money was further increased to $2,000.

North & South
1st $500 x 2
2nd $200 x 2
3rd $150 x 2
4th $100 x 2
5th $50 x 2

Total $1000. x 2 = $2,000

This format gives more people the opportunity to win more money. I hope you will be patient and stick with us as we explore different tournament structures/payouts. Feedback is very much appreciated.

Re: If the Micro Tourney's are to go along with regular tourney's...where are they
I see what your saying. I guess the point I am trying to make is when you started it was 3 different species per week at $1000 each for first and you usually could easily target 2 of the 3 each week. Plus there was much more variety in the tourneys. Now it is one species or 2 and the payout splits in half. It has also become very much dominated by bass tourneys.

In regards to the mini tourneys. I honestly think they are a waist. I personally feel good about a 2 week break and using the prize money from those minis to fatten up the next couple of tournaments, smb and seatrout/walleye with higher payouts from 1st to 5th. less tourneys and bigger payouts is the way to go in IMHO. The idea of people fishing for fun for smaller payouts which is "not ment to cover your gas" but yet are still competeing for $$$ is very contradictory. If we are goign to fish for fun ....then i will go go fish for fun for what i want to fish for when i want to do it. If were going to fish for a payout then lets make it a payout to remember. I will always be around and looking to complete but nothing really is very interesting to me right now with the exeption of the walleye tournament coming up.

I don't mean to be so critical. this is an awesome site that i would love to see grow, but To be big you have to think big and $100 for 1st place says "small time" anyway good luck and success with this site

Re: Re: If the Micro Tourney's are to go along with regular tourney's...where are they
We will have to wait and see where the demand is. Interesting enough, the Micro Tournaments have the highest pre registration numbers to date, dwarfing the next best by 3 fold.

Your points are well received.

Thanks again,

Re: If the Micro Tourney's are to go along with regular tourney's...where are they
I think it's a great testing ground for new people that just wanted a sample of the tourny.... they want to know what bounty tournys are all about.... $5 someone needs to get serious and sweep the board 1st in walleye 1st in Sm and 1st in Lm that would be a feat and $295 profit.....

I think BF should think big

how about this "1st 1500 2nd 1000 3rd 500" and 2 weeks for one competition, not every week.

think about the lottery , when will people want to try their luck even they don't buy it most of the time? we compete for trophy prize not...100 dollars

YAH BABY! I love the lottery! When Bounty gets BIG I see that happening especially when they are able to do multi species each week like they did last summer!

I agree with Donovan, I've always thougt bounty hit the floor running just a little too fast. When running a 5 mile race you dont run your fastest at the beginning only to become sluggish midway through the race, I think its about pacing yourself.

Im on the water, while you're on the forums

Re: If the Micro Tourney's are to go along with regular tourney's...where are they
I see points covered by many in different "natures"

Richard: Your site Rocks, your goals rock, and the fishing rocks the most, Keep up what your doing, all great things take time and I'm happy fishing even if it means I make a buck or not.

Just think back to when Bounty wasn't around and how you folk would take your kids or friends fishing, and have a blast. Well Now there's BOUNTYFISHING! A "Chance" to make somone else's money. Not yours. Somebody else's, in which you must abide by rules and "COMPETE" and not whine or be a suck because everything possible is being done to cater to you. Give all fair time, and wings will span wide ;)

Thas my two cents. Great job on everything so far, Takes money to make money!!!

Re: If the Micro Tourney's are to go along with regular tourney's...where are they
i think multi species is the way to go. the more variety the more people will sign up. the micro tourny is proving that. for these micro tourneys it would have been good to add some other prizes with the money like a new rod and reel or some lures or anything to do with fishing. but experimenting with different tourney set ups is all part of getting bigger and better. the regular format is really great. $7.00 for one day with a chance to win $500 or $1000 is execellent. when i compare this with the other tournaments in my area, bounty is the way to go. here is my breakdown of this. there is three major bass fishing series in the cornwall-ottawa area, Canada Pro Bass, Quebec bassmasters, and Renegades( which is supposed to be the biggest bass series in canada). if i want to enter one of these tourneys for one day it will cost anywhere from $250-$300 just to sign up. the prize money for first place in any of these series is $3000-$4000 and then it drops quite a bit from 2nd-10th. bounty has a much better cost to payout ratio. the nice thing about bounty is, if you pay the $20 for the week you can have a bad day and move on to the next one, or if the weather is bad. also we can fish wherever we want, we dont have to travel 2-3 hrs to get to the torney site, or spend money on motels. bounty is much more cost efficient for the money you can win. all people from all levels of income have a chance to fish and compete on bounty. we are all lucky to have the opportunity to compete and be part of bounty fishing. this is just my opinion but bounty is the ultimate angling community.
keep up the great work richard
