One lure for any/all species, I don't hesitate to say Bucktail Jig. Even though it may sound ridiculously outdated to some. For certain species I would pick something else (more than likely a different type of jig or jigging spoon), but for widest range of fishing conditions, speices, fishing speeds, absolute durability etc. etc... Bucktail jig is a hands down winner for me.

i found this season at least here in north carolina the best bait over all is a shallow diving grasshopper. the 10-11 in blueguill i have been caghting all season came on this along with a reddrum one cat and a few largemouth. i also have hit a few gar pike and pickerills so this is my go to bait for all spiecies

Conehead Zonker I have caught plenty of fish on this fly and when tied in Black, brown or olive It works well for Carp. late Spring early fall Big Lake run browns and Steelhead whack it ( even a few Salmon esp, coho's) . In my opinon It'll catch any fish you want to cast a fly to. You can Tie tham big and white for Stripers or small and Black to look like a Leach or Nymph. Quick to tie with plenty of variations .

For black bass, I'd have to go with a jig also, preferably a 3/8oz black with blue.
