Fishing the Bahamas for the first time help please
I said in my latest story the reason I am going but the point is that I will have a collapsible rod and limited tackle for fishing from shore. If any of you have fished the Bahamas or just know some info about weather or not I need to get a license to fish there and if so how to get one as well as what tackle I should plan on bringing along. Your help would be very much appreciated.

Save me a seat!

David,

What resort are you staying. What rating and size is your rod that you are bringing? Usually, the resorts have tackle rental, yet it might all be fly tackle. There's serious bonefish and permit fishing onshore. Look into carrying a couple of set ups from a 10-30 to a 20-50 rod rating. If you have a bazooka carrying case, it would help. i think it's an extra $25 for the extra luggage. Make sure if you're hand carrying your reels in the plane, that they're not spooled.(security reasons) If they're spooled, make sure it's in your check in bag. I would also bring some irons from a crocs, tadys, and salas. Make sure to bring some flouro leader line from 12lb to 50lb just in case you go out offshore. If you need more info, just PM me and I'll try to help as much as I can.

Good luck,
Hustlur
