For the price Rapala rods and reels are great. For absolute performance and prestige, its Daiwa for Me... I'm still breaking in a 7'6" Daiwa bass rod, which I have been using for pike - it's a 2 piece that comes apart at the handle... sounded a bit odd to me at first, but having tried it, I absolutely Love it...
p.s. I jsut took a look and the rods called a Cielo

Yes, I love that rod, I discovered it a few days ago.
Its a one piece that is blue and says team diawa on the side.
I know they do sell them in 2 piece but i prefer 1 piece.

I love my Redbone. It's not the most expensive, but it handles the arti's pretty well.

I'm not generally the type of person to frequent Chat Boards, but I must say I am impressed with this one. You guys really know what your talking about. Maybe it is the hardcore tournament element behind this contest. I'm not sure, but please keep up the great discussions!!

many favorites depending on method used - My number one choice is my shimano crucial 6' 9'' med action spinning dropshot rod - $125 Us, lifetime warranty, great tip sensitivity, enough backbone to handle 6 lb smallies
My number two is my loomis 6' 8" bronzeback Med action spinning rod for tubes
To expensive - but feel is amazing - tip is fast for long casts, and plenty of backbone
Also like my 6'6" med action St. Croix premier casting for Jerkbait fishing
Just the right action for snapping those pointers home
Also like the rogue rods, and fenwick Technica - for various stuff from jigs to SB to C-rigs.
I like my Bass Pro shops pro-qualifier 6' med action casting - very light. Its the last BPS rod I have left that has not come apart in some way - seems the made in china quality isn't what the market it to be. I'd stay away from em.

I would say my new American Rodsmiths H3 Titanium www.americanrodsmiths.com But they have a new one out that I wouldn't mind getting it's the H3 Titanium Ultra. Only problem is it's a bit more than I want to spend.

Airrus must know something about cutting edge. They are backing "The world's Largest Fishing Tournament". Also worthy, Shimano Crucials and St.Croix Premier Saltwater.

I gave up my shimano crucial's for deep south fishing rod's.. Hand's down much better rod! I broke my crucial's almost every year and haven't broke any of my deep south's in 3 years.. And even if I do with a lifetime original owner warrenty I'm covered..

Have two first is my 7ft. berkly cherrywood, this rod has caught everything and has never let me down, second one is my diawa 6.6 elinamator, think I spelled that wrong, but whatever.
beautiful lite rod for small trout or crappie fishing, is strong enough for bass and other such fishbut I like to keep it for the smaller fish with 4lb test.
my two cents

Deep South Fishing Rods. They are tough, sensitive, and priced better than other rods of the same quality. Their website is being rebuilt, but you can check out what they have at http://www.deepsouthfishingrods.com
I've put away much more expensive rods for these ones.
