Division Catfish Tournaments continued?
Posted Thu Nov 19, 2009 4:14 pm Division Catfish Tournaments continued?
I was just wondering if the Bounty Fishing folks are going to continue to break Catfish tornamnets into divisions? The last results showed that the North division is dominant. I liked breaking it up.

I didn't do very well ...but I don't normally fish for cats. It did makes it more of an even playing field. And I would continue to try when able to. Bassindow

There's some pretty stiff competition in Manitoba probably the Red river but if I can find a boat I'll head to the Minnesota side of the Red and see what I can do

I like divisions for everything, levels the field. I'm new to bounty, so I dont know for sure, but it looks like there needs to be alot more participation. Were having trouble finding 10 people lately for a tourny.

Divisions are great!!! As far as the tournaments go,I see why it has tailed off recently, days are shorter, colder, harder to catch the fish. I was only out 1 day for this tournament after work and was only able to fish 1 1/2 hours before it got dark.

in reference to cacabait I think cats and carp should be seperate categories

Think about Channel vs Carp in your waters...I know mine are same same. Now if Bounty kept the divisions it would work for me....Look at recent tourneys in North Carp and Channels are comin in about the same.
Point I think cacabait is making is because of divisions we need more participants for more tourneys, slots, payout. In order to do that with divisions or even during slow time put comparables together. Maybe I'm wrong about the trout and pike. My intent is to figure what would work for those of us that don't hang up our rods..

So they had the tournaments being either a Catfish or Carp catch? I would like to do a tournament for Carp and catfish but not to have them combined. I definetely can get way bigger carp then catfish in my area

grass carp get way bigger than common carp, don't think the two can be in the same category

well in my area both are hard to catch at this time of the year. although this comming spring id like to see just as many cat tornaments and carp torns run from spring through the summer along with the bass and pike and crappie torns ,so that it opens all spieces of fishinpersons the opp to join in and fish , and make money

I like the divisions. It's obvious that certain areas grow larger fish of the same species. The division tournaments seem to be more evenly matched.
