Competition Areas

I would like to suggest splitting up the contests into "areas". Let Canada fish other Canadians; West Coast fish West Coast ; Mountain Zone fish Mountain Zones; Midwest fish Midwest and East Coast fish East Coast. Professional fishermen have their own tourneys to compete in; a smaller state with limited fishing areas competing against those of larger fish areas just seems a tad unfair. I think it would invite more fishermen if they felt they were competing against their own. Some state average fish sizes do not even compare to other states averages, making it an uneven competition, wouldn't you agree? I sure would like to know what other fishermen think of this. Do you feel this would make it a more enjoyable competition?

yes and no, you have a point about sizes but then again all states and provinces don't
carry the same species, so I think in the end it all works out. hey this coming from someone
who can't even enter.

Species, I agree , Not all states carry the same species. But some of these species are more widespread and those are the ones that shoud be seperated. Examples: All Bass, Catfish, Carp, Bluegill, Crappie, Walleye, Perch - just to name a few. Atleast Seperate them into the North and South like they've already done for Largmouth Bass.

I thought about this as well, I would be very interested to see what the organizers, and others have to say as well.
They say fishing and golf are not sports? Sportfishing yes, but I've never heard of sport golfing...
