Carp Round Up

This weekend at Elephant Butte Lake, I am entering a carp tournament. You try to catch as many carp as possible in 8hours, no nets, no bows, only rod and reel and hand propelled spears. My friend and I are entering as a team. Prize is $5,000 for first $2,000 for second, and $500 for third. The dead carp go to the Game and Fish to made into pellets to feed the trout at the hatcheries

Good Luck!! I take it that carp are overpopulated in that lake. Hope you're 5 grand richer!

I would love to try something like that here, although I think it would be a declaration of wars with the Brittish. I would pre-soak corn / animal feed and pre-bait the area if for a few days if possible, you'll get them conditioned and feeding.

Thanks guys! I am going to prebait a few coves I know that hold tons of carp, I won't be at Elephant Butte until Friday evening and the tournament starts at 7am Saturday.
