You can run it in salt water all you want. Just make sure to clean the boat good and flush the engine thoroughly, that mean 3to5 min or until the water coming out of engine does not taste salty.

Hi, i know that i have had my 19' bass boat in salt water and all i ever do is when you get off the water you will have to run fresh water thru the motor to prevent corrosion on the insides, That's all i do and i have had no corrosion problems as of yet. I've been doing it for about 12 years now. if you have an aluminum boat, be sure to rinse it off with fresh water also. hope this helps

Clean your zinc anodes before and after. If you're planning on an extended stay in salt water, you may even want to fortify your boat with a few more.

You probably could, but you've already mentioned the biggest concern. Saltwater is corrosive, and your boat wasn't made for salt water. If the RI trip is going to be a one time trip only, consider renting a boat. If it's going to be ongoing, buy a new boat.

If you do use your boat, scrub the bottom and all fittings the minute you take it out of the salt water. And get a connector that allows you to connect the boat's cooling system to a freshwater source. Start the engine (while the boat is sitting on the trailer, and let it run. All the while, keep the freshwater flowing). This will flush the system, and clean out the saltwater.

You can definitely take it into saltwater, expect a slight corrosion problem if you have chrome rims on your trailer. No matter what you do, saltwater wreaks havoc on chrome plating. In addition to rinsing the engine out, make sure to spray WD-40 on the engine to prevent any corrosion on the outside of the engine unit. Think of it as lubing the outside of your engine. Nuts and bolts can sometimes freeze to the engine housing making it extremely difficult to make simple repairs or maintenance. WD 40 won't hurt anything and you're maintenance and repair costs will remain low.

only if it has the Super-Duper Protective Anit-Corrosive Outer Lining... otherwise it will melt and you will drown.

If you want to run your boat in Salt Water you can change the filter systen in the pump and also flush it with fresh water when you get back prefferably run it in a fresh water lake.

Electrolysis is much more profound in salt water. Making sure your sacrificial anodes are up to par will help fight corrosion caused by electrolysis.

Everybody seems too agree that your engine needs to be flushed after use in salt water but one thing you need to remember is to also take it to a car wash and rinse off your trailer. The salt water will attack the metal on your trailer and it will start to rust very quickly after just a few trips

Bass Boats can be used in both,

Best bet just to be safe is wash it down with fresh water.. Hook hose to motor and flush, if you own a Bass boat i'm sure you know how to do that..Make sure you tilt it up remove drain plugs and wash carpet down real good, thats the one thing the salt will mess up fast.. Let it dry, put it away and wait till next week-end

corrosion will always be a problem when you put a freshwater boat into salt water.....but you can combat it if you do a full tune up when you pull her out of the salt water, you have to change everything (gear oil, etc), and rinse it well. Why not just have one boat for salt water one for fresh???? That's what we do...much easier.

Depends on the hull type. But also corrosion is a big issue and dont take it out into salt water if it was made for fresh.
