I'm not a meteorologist by no means but I have learned a few tricks in predicting the weather. Weather changes come from the top of the atmosphere down and wind change determines the weather.

Fish will still bite in the rain, sometimes even better, but lets face it we would prefer the sun. A few signs that the fish are not the only ones that are going to be wet are the trees leaves turning their backs, when the clouds start moving in different directions, wind shifts counterclockwise in the North, the building of dark cumulus clouds, or a halo around the moon. An easier way to remember the signs of the wind is a poem I once read:

Wind from the north, don't venture forth.
Wind from the east, fish bite least.
Wind from the south, blows the bait in the fish's mouth.
Wind from the west, fish bite the best.
