I couldnt say it enough times...... THANK YOU! You diffently pushed me to fish as often and as hard as possible. Ok Im going to admit how obsessed and to what length's I went to just to catch anything.... whether it hit the board or just ended up in my account I cheerished every catch. During weekend 1 I decided to call my teacher up, that being Grandpa and he said he would take me out on the weekend and we had one heck of a day pulling in 5 walleye a piece in 2 hour span and the 23.6" I caught ended up getting me $200..... from that point on I knew if I could get 2nd once I could win ...... SO I THOUGHT!
Come week 2 I decided Id try to at least get out and get into some action during the weekdays after work, I would scramble home and rush to find the 3 three most important things to my day that being my POLE&TACKLE, BOUNTYCODE AND CAMERA. On the Tuesday I even took my blow up raft cause the weather was nice and calm and I floated half way across the BOQ with my proper safety gear and tried my arse off jigging for eyes but came up with a few small perch for the efforts. Got out for the weekend of that week and ended up getting 22" eye that came up just short of third even though the other guys fish was a tooth pick! Just Jokin! LOL! Got a nice Pike that almost rip my Grandpas fingers off when he was removing the hooks while I got the stuff ready, I think in the 8 weekends I fished with PA he got at least 3-4 bad cuts from my fish while I was getting tape and cam ready..... he would start yelling at me at the top of his lungs to get my arse in gear, jeez we just found em HURRY UP! All in fun and I cant say I know a person that OLD that still wants to just have Good OL fun, NEVER LOSE THE CHILDISH SPIRIT IT'S WHAT KEEPS US GOING! Week 3 was when I noticed alot of anglers started to catch on to the site and I tried again but nothing big to show but still great fun as always.
Couldnt afford week 4 but I still got out fishing and caught one of my bigger bass for the summer being a 17 3/4" LM that was a goood time with my oldier brother, Id say I got out with more people in the period of the summer tournament then ever I called up my Musky buddies I called up my LM, even those crazy old WALLEYE buddies just to see if I could learn more tips to help me learn more..... and Week 5 came along and the eyes started to slow down in this area or I couldnt find em got a decent 23.5 on the last day but I knew 25 was minimal to hit the board, started keeping track of what alot of guys were catching previous and tried to go by that and it helped. Week 6 was even slower but managed my best of the summer being a 25.5 fatty of an eye in very shallow water that was a mean fight and my net man was PA and he dont miss em! Week 7 I hit a spot I know musky lurk and it's shore accessible within a hour of throwing my buck tail BOOM! My first musky it ran good pulled it to shore and my buddy from work netted it quick couple picks and the rest was history, I now know what guys mean by you'll know when it's a SKI! Caught a Lm bass in the same spot as the week before and who knows it looked an awful lot like the same one!
Week 8 couldnt get any eyes and I tried and tried and tried and tried just not hitting, got a Pike and that was the only decent fish I caught all week and week 9 was a write off I lost a HOG of A BASS under a dock... swore and cursed but then I calmed down because I got the evil eye from the Fiancee, she dont like it when I lose my temper over fish, she always has this saying when I do it...... There could be little kids around, which I would feel like crap if I offended a little kid or there parents but IT WAS THE HEAT OF THE MOMENT.... only the people that have lost that big one can describe the feeling...... it flat out sucks but that;s FISHING EH! To sum this up, MY SUMMER WAS A BLAST THANKS TO A LITTLE COMPETITVE NATURE and A GREAT BUNCH OF PEOPLE! TY BOUNTY!
Mike :)
