Well I was suppose to go to the Upper Ottawa river this weekend to my buddy's cottage....They leave Thursday night 3 of them and another friend and I will leave Friday morning..so they stop by and leave everything good and on schedule..They get there and everything is great...So Friday morning I get up finish packing and go to the thrown for a last civalized one the phone rings but I continue my business. I get out of the bathroom and the wife says"Sean called and says to call him not to come up and and the cottage is burnt down."Me I think its a joke!curse the wife and call.
I call to talk to a panicky and heavy breathed voice of my buddy who says"the cottage burnt down.So I ask if they are all out and okay he says yes but this is not really so..So I tell him to call me later when all things calm..and later to find out two will be in hospital for at least two to three weeks and one is fine..So the story basically is they go to sleep.2 in the cottage and one in the guest house (the snorer).One in the main cabin awakens to the fire and when he looks the whole front porch is up and this 75 to 100 year old cabin is goin up fast.So he wakes the other guy and he puts sleeping bags over his legs and runs out the front porch catches on fire(sleeping bags)..the other sees and ops out the rear window...They yell scream My buddy in the guest cabin(the son of the owners cottage)gets up the call 911 and try to save the cottage fitting a losing battle the propane tank explodes burns him and his new toyota rav4 is up in flames...the vehicle now unreconizable and cottage burn to the foundation..My one buddy has 2nd and 3rd degree burns on arms and face..and my other buddy has 1st and 2nd degree burns to his legs and feet...I am still in shock as I was supoose to be there but I couldnt get a babysitter so that I could leave early...and my friends I am feeling horrible for them too...not sure whats next...have to go see them in the next couple days.....and not looking foward to it....
