Out bass fishing in a local lake with shiners. Lots of shad getting hammered by bass on the suface,so I just flipped my shiner right in the middle of them. Right away, three bass at one time came after the shiner and hammered it.Line off and running,I set the hook on a solid fish.It jump once and out comes the bait. I reeled it in to check it. Something strange had happen. These bass were so full of shad and when I set the hook,it came out of the shiner and conneted with a shad that was in the belly of the bass.I had just traded baits inside a bass belly. The shad was still kicking so I flipped him out and got nailed right away. 3 pound bass onboard with a different bait approach. Shiner traded for a shad equals bass.
