Last Spring just about this time of the year.. I had went out on my daily fishing time. It was In the Evening about 7 pm off the shore Here in Red bank. Expecting to Hook on to nothing and to only be out there to Keep the Fishing Spirit alive in me on a Daily basis.. I decided that i would change of my Lures for a Change a used a Stipple from blue fox.After doing my First cast out.. i was taking my time reeling in and playing with the hook giving it a nice dance on the way to the shore.. I was about 15 feet off the shore when my A trout Hit. Oh he was a Big Fella.. he Took it hard and he fought it with everything he had.. He was the Bull of all trout in Miramichi River. as soon as i thought that i Had my Hook Set in Good i Proceeded to Reel him in, Wrestling with Reel to Rod and Rod to Fin. He was an Awesome Fight. nothing can eve Discribe the feeling that i Had when i had Hooked him.. But concentration was a Key in to trying to Land him. After a Good Fight of over 15 mins.. of Setting my Drag and playing him to the shore..I was at Mind when i noticed that it seemed he was Giving up... I was at Relief that it was time to land him Ashore. while sliding him along the shore line.. Hey Burst into Full Surge of Energy only giving me a glimpse of what he looked like.. Right then and there i Knew i was in for another Fight. this time he Really put the Effort in to Shaking an Rolling, twisting and Diving Deeper.. not once did he Jump and only Rolled.. My worries of such a long fight with this Monster size of a Brook trout. was that my Line would Snap. But in more Efforts of Patience i had Kept my cool. and brought him back to the shore line where i would try to Land him.. once again. i had thought i tired him out good this time, and Just as I was going to Slide him up. the Hook Released from his his mouth and He Swam away. By eye , he was a monster.. and he would of Been the Biggest Trout I have Ever seen come from the Miramichi River. I am still fishing every day in hopes that he is still in that river to Give me another Chance and the Opportunity to have that great Fight Again.
