My son I have been fishing Lake Michigan for salmon for the last couple of years. Been getting our share of Kings but the fish top out at 15 or 16 lbs. Got a call from Mike Lazuras(Troller8) and he was fishing Lake Ontario. When he called I could hear the exitment in his voice. "We are crushing the big kings" he says. "Get out here will ya". I had been thinking of doing a trip out there, and when this guy say's there going, Im in. Got packed, loaded the boat and My son Jon(FISHHUNT2), My pal Jeff(SCIMAN) and I hit the road. Nine hours later we are checking in at a hotel in Port Credit, Ontario and we are all jacked up for the next days fishing. Launched the next day out of Port Credit and with some info from Greg the guy that Mike(Troller8) was fishing with We started in 70" looking for bait. We foung it all over the place and there were big hooks along with it. The first day we all caught our personal best Kings over 20lbs. Got a call from Greg to see how we were doing that night and he told us that the fish were going hard East of Toronto about 20 miles down the road. We decided to launch there the next morning. 5:30A.M. New port and we can't wait to get the lines in. Found the bait in 90" and never had a chance to get six rods in until about 10:00. The kings tore the sh#t out of our gear and we had a blast. Ended up going 25 for 35 or something with 5 fish over 23lbs. up to 26lbs. It was awsome!!!! Now for the most important part of the story. My son Jon and I are talking about this Greg guy that Mike was fishing with, and Jon said" Dad, I bet you that is Greg Amiel". So I confirm this with Mike and sure enough it is. Now anyone who competes on this site knows that if you get on the leaderboard, no matter what species, there is a good chance that this guy is going to kick your but down a couple of places. So we were sent down a couple of times by Greg and We got to return the favor maybee once. So were thinking that when he finds out who we are, all of the good info might dry up right. Let me tell you. This guy is a class act and a true diehrd fisherman. He deserves everything he gets. He was more than happy to help us in every way. His exact words were "Anything you guys need while your here please call me and I will help you out". He called us to make sure we were in good shape many times over the next three days. When I told him that the kings had broken about everything in the boat, the guy goes to the tackle shop and reloads my the boat with all of the good baits and everything else we needed. We ended up having the trip of a lifetime with over 75 kings in the boat in a little mor than three days of fishing. I will post some photos on Bounty Fishing. I learned a valuable lesson. This site is not all about the $$$$. I have a feeling a guy could go just about anywhere and get on the fish with the help of our fellow Bounty Ffisherman I am sure glad to be a part of it.
Thanks again to Bounty Fishing, Mike Lazarus and my new friend Greg Amiel.
