 Another Day fishing on the Lachine Canal next to the Old port in Montreal with a few of my friends. While fishing for pan fish ,just relaxing eating our lunches, talking with the fellow montrealers passing by, my line was biting down , I tault to myself "well its just another perch or sunfish" Well it was a perch , but all of a sudden I felt my line pulling so hard in my head im thinking what is this a perch on steroids? Then it stopped . . . . Im reeling in the perch once again but it seemed to be moving alot all of sudden? liek trying to swim away from something? The perch was afloat on top of the water as I see A HUGE!!! Mother! jump out of the water to eat the perch , at this point I was shaking and in tears I was sooo happy! As im reeling this bastard felt like it weighed atleast over 15 pounds, it was 5 feet infront of me! Id say it was 40+ it just wouldn't let go of the perch i was hoping for the hook in the perches mouth to pop out and hoo kthe muskie but ..... it didn't happen :( alll i was left with was a perch with a few holes all over its body and blood comming out of the gills. Let me say that was one hell of a fight!!! DAN DC
