Sitting on the back of my boat the other it was a wonderfull breezy clear night , enjoying the peace and calm I decided to do a little fishing. I had about a doz 12-13 inch sucker minows so I threw the first one out . 10 minutes .. I hooked a fish. 20 + lbs catfish. Ok thats pretty normal . 20 minutes later I hooked a little bigger one. 32lbs. I'm thinking this is too good to be true LOL . so I thew out another . 30 minutes I set the hook and what ever it was stripped every inch of line off my reel and kept rigth on going. I threw out another proubly one of the biggest suckers I had ( was about maybe 14 inches long ) about an hour went by while I was wondering around on the boat my reel went off . by the time I got to it there was about half of the line left so I set the hook . thats when the fun started . for over and hour and a half I fought this fish . I finally got it to the back of the boat and I thought I had a 60 lb snapping turtle when it came to the surface. then I realize this was a cat . the head was atleast 18 inches across . we meet eyes and in a humorus manner it told me my fun was over shook his head , snapped the line and nonchilantley swam off. I know this cat had to be close to 70 lbs. or more. My picture is of one of the fish I caught that night ( it weighed out at 42.4 lbs and 51 inches long ) when I had someone to available to take a picture. Now heres the funny part of the story . I was only using 10lb test mono with a 20lb test leader .... LOL WOW what a night .
