FlacidBaits (US)

I'm Bart, and I love fishing. Mainly for bass, but will settle for anything that will bite. Except turtles. I love talking with other anglers, and always look forward to it. But not now. The fish are bitin'! Gotta go!

This is my favorite time of year to fish. The weather's cool, always a breeze, and almost always sunny. But one thing this time of year brings is pressure bites. And for an unexperienced angler, pressure bites can be very hard to recoginize since the fish just picks up the bait, and then sits with it. What tends to happen is the fish spits it, or you pull it ou of it's mouth. But I have discovered a way to hook up almost every time.

When I first tried Sure Catch Lures, I'll admit that I was a bit skeptical. That's because they feature an inverted hooking system. What this means is the on the belly of the bait ther are two small hook retainers. These retainers hold the hook against the belly with the points facing backwards. This allows the bait to slide easily through weeds and brush without hanging up, but mostly, keeps the hook in the strike zone. Just recently I was using a Yearling Bass Fukai Shad crank, and while reeling, my rod suddenly became very heavy. I began thinking that this can't be right, these are supposed to be weedless! Just then, a beautiful 4 pound bass broke the surface thrashing at this bait. Kind of scared me because I wasn't expecting it.

So I reel in the fish and find that both hooks have set themselves into the fishes mouth. One in the top, one in the corner. This fish didn't have a chance at getting away! Then I started thinking. I never felt the fish hit, therefore, I never set the hook. This can't be right ! Right? Well it's the absolute truth. I never did set the hook, and somehow, there were two solid hooks in this fish. Thinking that this was a one time deal, I kept on fishing. 1, 2, 3 fish later, the same results. All pressure bites, not one hookset. 3 more fish landed, both hooks in mouth. So I can genuinely tell you from experience that thes lures work. Sure Catch: Enough Said.
