Just wondering about the Bounty rules that state all anglers must abide by all state and provincial laws. I hope this means you cannot catch and enter fish(bass) that are not even in season yet. I ask this after reading things from from members talking about catching fish in upcoming tourneys and noticed they live in areas where the season is not even open for at least another month after the touney ends.

I would go after bass if these tournaments were regional but I dont stand a chance against the southerners up here in Jersey. Perch... it's on.

Musky55, The muskies that were entered were from participants who Caught their fish in Quebec. They don't live in Quebec, therefore the law doesn't apply to them. And yes it's because of the lottery laws. I live in Quebec as well and there is no way for us to compete unfortunately.... That I know of. -Jon

Hea there Iam a new member and see that Quebecers are not allowed entries. is this because of our lottery laws. also have seen some Quebecers entered in the musky tourny, any way around this besides moving out of this province????? thanks Musky 55

Bounty of course does not promote breaking the law.... and the law is the law. It is always implied in any set of rules no matter what it is, that if your breaking the law and you get caught its your own fault. Like Lonnie said, if you live near a place where its open season for catch and release... then head there and catch your fish. Hope I helped clarify.

The fish has to be in season in order to enter it. In the case of New York State - their regulations allow for catch and release fishing for bass before the catch and keep season - so this is a case where you could enter the fish adn still be abiding by the state rules - but other states/provinces disallow any catching of certain species during closed seasons - in those cases the fish would not be allowed... at least this is how I interpret that rule.
