On June 10, 2007 while on a camping trip with my wife at Natchez State park. ( home of the State record bass 18.15 lb.) My wife and I had been fishing all weekend long without even a bite. On the last day of our camping trip, my wife and I went out one more time to try and catch a bass. We fished all morning and again not a bite. As we were heading back to our camp site I told my wife that I was going to make one last cast off a point that we were passing in the boat. As soon as the bait hit the water I told my wife that I was hung up, about that time something almost pulled the reel out of my hand so I then knew that I had a big fish. I set the hook and the fish made a jump out of the water. When I saw it all I could do was say o' my god. The fish put up a big fight and jumped out of the water four or five times. And each time all I could say is o' my god. Finally I landed him. He weighted 11.68 lbs. which is my biggest bass. After some photos I let him go. My wife kept saying keep him and get him mounted. I told her that I had to let him go, cause I had just asked the good lord to let me catch just one big fish and I would let him go. Anyway I hope that everyone enjoys this story. And never give up.
