One of my first fishing trips

This trip goes back at least a good 10+ years. While on a trip with my husband, cousins and some friends, all of these guys are big anglers. I hadn't been fishing all that long, might of been the year I first bought a fishing licence, but I was engaged to a fisherman, so I went. At that time in my life I don't think I knew how much he really likes to fish...I know now!
We had 2 boats out filled with anglers. A very slow day nothing for any of us, but of course we still continued. Some guys went in, some fell asleep, I think they were almost ready to pack it in. I'm sitting with my rod on the boat just enjoying being on the lake, when all of a sudden, boom! That woke me up. What a hit I said to Greg, Hey I got something and I think it's pretty big. As I'm fighting this fish, I keep thinking wow this a quite a fight. I couldn't believe that the fish I was bringing in was this big. Caught a pike over 20lbs at least over 40". And since the guys in the other boat caught nothing we put it in the livewell and found them on the lake, just to show them. They ask how'd you guys do, we caught nothing, not even a bite. Then Greg says, yeah Sharyn caught a fish and he pulled it out of the live well, needless to say the mouths all dropped. They couldn't believe it. So from then on I knew that this is a sport I can do. It was me and the guys and I was the only successful angler there that weekend!! I don't think the guys were too happy with a girl out fishing them. Well the fishing continues, and here I am still fishing and surprised with what my kids now pull out of the waters. From generation to generation let's keep the sport going, take a kid and teach him/her fishing is great fun. But teach them that in order to be able to do this with your own children in the future remember..... If we're not eating it that night for dinner, we're putting it back to grow bigger so we can catch it another day!!
