Do to a massive oil spill in the mississippi river the coast gaurd had to close down 80 miles of river caused by a pilot that turned the tug boat over to a crew member with no captains license to crash the bardge and spilling over 400 barrles of oil, just what we need with GAS PRICES, Shutting the river down forced plenty of angler's to have to change there plan's for the big Faux Paux tournament in venice, La. But the rodeo had to go on. We fished from the 24th to the 26th and the weather was tough and we had to fish unknown waters, pulling Redfish after redfish small and large landing a tournament fish under 27 inches weighing in at 7.14 pounds and then landing a 41 inch bull red for the bounty tournament, Some people just don't know how lucky we are here in the south Louisiana with the saltwater fishing were we can catch reds in one area and moster trout 300 ft over...we picked up reds and our 20 inch flounder weighing in at 2.66 pounds for the $1500.00 first place win within 300 yards of each other, and missing the calcutta by a short .28 of a pound for first place. That shows you the area we have to fish is just the best on the planet, to fish unchartered waters and do that well it gotta be great, The river being shut do only on catching the trout that was needed, we were going pull for the 6 to 7 pounder and we had to settle for the 4.2 pounder which in our regular spot a 5 pounder average hole we have whould have got us the complete win of our tournament, in all, IT IS WHAT IT IS AND THAT'S WHY IT'S CALLED FISHING INSTEAD OF CATCHING.If your LINE is not in the water you can't catch that DREAM fish you are looking for...LET'S see if Bounty Fishing can open up more spices of fish here in the south like, BLACK DRUM, FLOUNDER AND SHEEPSHEAD....God Bless and good fishing (TIGHT LINES TO ALL)
