 07/07/2007 was to be, the first day of a five day camping trip on Laurel Lake with my family. After we set up camp we all loaded in the boat for a night of fishing. I have fished this lake many times before but this night would turn out to be like no other.

I was fishing with a shakesp ultra light with 4 lb. test. I was meaning to re spool this reel after the last outing but didn't. That would hurt. We went to a favorite hole on the lake, dropped anchor, and began to fish. We were spilt shoting tiny red hooks with sweet corn. I got a huge bite! It pulled some drag. Then snap! Man I was disappointed. I was about ready to go to camp. My boys reeled their poles in a half hour ago. They were currently playing PSP or something, my wife hasn't had a bite, but we came here to fish.

With a flashlight my son helped me re spool my reel. We re baited are hooks and went back to fishing. About fifteen minutes later I got another bite. This time I was ready. When I first saw it I knew it was the biggest rainbow trout I've ever caught. My wife got the net. After three big jumps, and giving my drag a work out, my wife netted it. We but it in the live well.

It is my personal profile picture. It measured 23 inches long, with a twelve inch girth, and weighed seven pounds. My scale doesn't show ounces. The very next night me and my son landed another seven pound trout. It swallowed the hook so we ate that one. It is the picture AustinTroutDinner.

The first night it was after midnight so it was technically the seventh. It was eleven when we caught the other one. If you count the one I lost that would be three seven ponders on 07/07/2007. Before that night my biggest, on this lake, was 3 lb. something.
