 I have an addiction to fish in brutally cold frigged weather from shore for walleye, its tough but when it pays off its the best reward!!!! Here's what the problem is, it gets so dam cold that my eyelets freeze every 5 minutes..... what do you use or do to prevent this, I have heard of vaseline and other lubes but not sure which works best........ anyone have any suggestions???????

find ice rods with really big eyes is what I did over the years maybe go with tip ups, but all in all more fish will be noticed and have taken more fish in winter than any other set up is the willow twig and rubber band set up or fish from a warm heated portable all of the above will work and hand lining to me is the most fun you feel every pull and tug from the fight..I use all of them plus some....

I just use chapstick on mine. It works well enough.

OH eyelets not eyelits!!LMAO! Silly blonde!!!...oops I'm Brunette now!! I never had that problem but I do WD-40 the heck outa my gear. Smiley!! MA

One thing I have done is sprayed my spoon of line with wd40, it works for awhile but wears off , have also done the vasiline thing, only finds it works soso. also good to get are these new mecanic gloves the make. they come in all different price ranges. they are slim fit and the better ones have some warmeth to them.

All you need is your PAPA SMURF hat pulled down to yer fishin specks and Columbia zippy uppy that goes to yer nose!! Only problem with this set up is...nostril passage sticking together syndrome!!!!lol JK Mikey! Cover them eyes with goggles!! Have you ever snow skiied?? If so same concept. Smiles Always!
