Here's just a story of my last weekend in the SUMMER BOUNTYFISHING TOURNAMENT:
I grabbed my 8 year old son(SEAN) and hit every favorite fishing hole in the Valley (8 spots). I called friends to get my bounty code each morning.. I only signed up for the weekend. We caught bunches of fishies(Kitty Kats, Carp, Perch, BG, LM, Crappy, and MUSKY!!). No BOUNTY'S, but we had a BLAST! Sunday we stopped at the Musky hole...the water is real low now so there were no boats out. The first 1/2 hour we caught 50 pan fish or so, from shore. Soon the Musky were hitting...on guess what??? The perch and blue gill while we were reeling them in! Soon other anglers were swarming around us wondering how we were getting the Musky to play 2 feet in front of us! I threw on a small rapala silver and caught and released 7 just under 40" long. Sean was so excited to catch Musky that we decided to camp there instead of going to the kitty kat hole. My lantern ran out of fuel around 10:30pm and as I was going for my flashlight, I tripped on a tree root and smacked my knee as I tumbled down a large enbankment. I injured my old body pretty bad and Sean was asleep. I literally crawled around searching for my cell to phone for help. It was dead! Not only was it's battery dead but my camera's aswell(sorry no pics). The next camp was a good 4 blocks from mine, so I went to bed. My leg was throbbing and I was in severe pain all night. Finally at 5:30am I couldn't stand it any longer, so I woke Sean. He was so worried about me. What a big helper he was. Sean hauled up all our fishing gear down by the shore, while I fumbled with the tent gear. Some fisherman pulled in around 6:00 and loaded my Rodeo. They were a sight for sore eyes!!! I told them about the previous night of Musky fun, and while I was describing how close they were to shore, a huge one jumped out of the water!! Any way I managed to get to the hospital (clutches and injured legs do NOT mix!). Yes I'm on crutches now and yes I'll be after it again in a couple days!
THANK YOU SO MUCH BOUNTYFISHING-TEAM AND MEMBERS!!!!! For tagging along with me this summer...doing that one thing I enjoy so much FISHING!!!!
