Although this is embarrassing, I figured the Bounty world might get a good laugh from this story. I know all of my friends did. While fishing at a local lake I was casting up into a narrow creek from a bank. I became hung on something. I gave a couple of tugs and I could see the branch I was caught on slowly coming up out of the water. Being that I was somewhat low on line I wanted to see if I could save the 20 or so yards I had out from my rod(wanted to keep fishing and I didn't have any more line with me) by pulling the line, zoom trick worm and 1/2 ounce ikey weedwacker(bullet shaped) head in with the branch. So I reeled down and gave a good tug. The barb from the ikey head hook breaks off and the weight comes speeding towards me. It was on me before I could react....1/2 weight in the corner of my eye. Vision in the eye goes black, it swells shut in a matter of seconds and blood is running down my face. After about 5 minutes of some choice words and checking my face to see if my eye was still in the socket I made it through the brush and drove home with one eye. Lots of ice and band-aids I was back on the lake a couple days later....Also came to find out that a friend's dad LOST his eye in a similar situation. Whew!! What a close one.
