So I decided to hit my local LM shore spot today after work started throwing dingers when this oldier couple in a big boat that is docked start talking to me...... small chat find out there from Chicago not that it matter's........ catch a small one after getting a few casts in and they get really interested all of a sudden, I hate to fish under people's boats but I know usually decent Bass hang out in the shadows so I started casting beside there boat within a good 20 casts, get a good hit then go to set and nuthing, cast right back to same spot half way down on the flutter BOOM, let em run till my line tightened up and a thick overhand set to get the fight started, no problem getting em up took a power pro fling to get em between the big boat and the dock and they start asking what size I think it is..... right away I knew it was a 3 #'er cause I caught the same fish yesterday....... same spot same lure had the same dots and the exact same hook mark....... Funny.... take a quick pic and then the old lady starts asking what I'm doing with it so I told her I was going to let it get bigger so I could catch it when it was really BIG and she says to me that is a shame..... " Can I buy it off you?" I was kind of offended by it..... so I said " Sorry Maam that is illegal here and if you want some fish there's a grocery store very close" she got all snitty and rude and then she turn's around and says you know I would have given you $20 American and that's when I decided to switch spots! Just thought I'd share the story! Id never sell a fish that's like selling my soul!

Good story martycoo. I have had people offer me 5 bucks for a bass I caught. No friggin way! I tell them to learn how to fish first and then learn the etiquette of catch and release. I tell them to eat the carp. They're more healthy for you. hahaha!!

derrick that's the exact way I think and I see it alot and it's called ignorance or lack of knowledge on some peoples behalf!! I've learned that I can only try to teach people and not try to get offended and just tell em to F off or sumthing stupid like that! Walleye are the same way I like to eat maybe tops 3-4 #'ers but 17-18" is what Im usually after if Im going to have a meal. And LM bass or SM bass I cant remember the last time I even ate one.... Im talking a 3lb BOQ bass tastes like weeds and I cant even imagine even wanting to buy one. Plus the Lm are really starting to take off on the bay for size. The more fish ya put back the more you get in return! Just common sense, so tonight I'm off to a sweet little honey hole for some Walleye and Panfish action and I know I won't have to worry about people trying to buy Bass off me cause it's quite the hike and secluded! TIght Lines! Mike :)

Good work!! I have had people downright get angry when they see you release a fish. Like catching it automatically means the death sentence for the fish. If you look at my page you will see a picture of the last muskie I caught. I am wearing a black shirt. The fish was 51.5" and I had two walleye guys that were fishing close to me and they went nuts when they saw me release it. Telling me I should slit the belly, or thump it and let it float. They were convinced that the only reason the walleye fishing was so slow was because the muskies were eating all the walleyes. Yeah, or maybe its because they thump every 24" walleye they catch. Dummies!! Who the heck would want to eat a 3# Largemouth anyhow? Yuck!! It would taste like swamp grass. Good story!!

Ya I get offended by people who think that money is what makes things happen...... sure money is good but fish populations and size are way more important to me. We need to put 3-4 # bass back to be able to compete J/J! Mike :)
