Well a couple weeks back myself and a few friends of mine decided to go on a little fishing adventure to a "secluded" place known as cass pond, we had no idea what we were in for, all pumped up and ready to go we checked the boat trailer made sure it was all secure, not hard considering we were only pulling a 12 foot row boat because this pond is pretty small but has been known to hold some monster largemouth's and smallies as well, we loaded our "brand new rods and reels along with our tackelboxes into the boat. this boat we were only going a about a 1 and 1/2 mile down the road( now that the boat had well over a 1000 bucks worth of gear) in it we were ready to go or were we? were going down the road all pumped and talking trash about who was going to catch the biggest fish and bla bla bla you know how it goes? when all of a sudden my buddy matt says hey guys? with no response from us because of the trash we are talking to eachother (all fun and games of course) he says again "hey guys" we said whaaaat!!! just then my heart dropped when he said we just lost the boat!!!! ( oh sh%* is right..... I snapped my head back so fast only to see that little boat skidding across the road with all of our "precious cargo" in it and heading right for the big ditch on the other side sploosh there it goes....so we pulled over rushed to the ditch and there layed on its side that little row boat we found everything but one anchor, and god must have been looking out for us because the only thing that was in the boat was about a foot of water and still none of our gear was damaged except for when i picked up my tackle box to inspect it it weighed an extra 30 gallons lol........ yea i had to lay my tackle out and dry because them hooks were going to be rusty in no time, anyways we still went fishing after we heaved the boat out with a tow strap and some good ol fashion man power....wow what an idiot mistake, and i couldent be blamed for it lol because the side i racheted down was still tight as could be which is more than i can say for my buddys side which come to find out was only held down with an s hook to the frame of the trailer.......but man for none of our gear to be damaged that day , ill consider that one a miracle......anyways thanks for reading and good luck fishin

I sorta did the same thing once only with a four wheeler.. We were going back to a little lake back in the woods in northern Minnesota to go bass fishing.. Well the trailer we had was only hooked up to the four wheeler with a pin type hitch. We were burning down this back logging road at a pretty good clip when we hip a bump and the pin popped right out.. The tongue of the trailer dug into the dirt and sent that trailer cartwheeling end over end with our little row boat taking the brunt of it.. We weren't so lucky with the rods though. We had four with us and ending up with two. Good story! Later Derrick
