I tell you what,You may not believe me but, use a 6 to 10 in piece of white nylon rope,about 1/16 to 1/4 in diameter,rasp(rough)the rope up a bit,exposing fibers.Tie on your line;its kinda tough but, just use a good knot to hold it securely.Cast to crusing fish.....Work it like a plastic jerk-bait.As the fish bite,count to 3;the fibers get snagged in the gars tiny teeth...Its a helluva way to catch them...
