I live near Pittsburgh, in PA, and fish the three rivers alot. I also fish alot of trout streams in the area. I've been hooked on fishing ever since I was 9 years old, when my Dad took me to Canada to fish for smallmouth, largemouth, and northern pike.

Recently, one of my classmates decided to make a joke out of how much I love fishing. He said to me, "Fishing is all luck! What skills do you have to have to catch a fish? I bet I could catch just as many fish as you any day." Before he could finish his first sequence of obnoxious laughs, I made my rebuttle. "Can you swim a jig?", I inquired. Of course, the response was "No", and the laughs continued. Apparently I had not made my point, so I continued. "Can you run a trolling motor?." Another "No". "Can you deadstick a jerkbait? Crawl a craw? What is a carolina rig? A texas rig? What is drop-shotting? How does a cold front affect bass behavior? What is prespawn? Spawn? Postspawn? Can you pitch, flip, or skip a bait? What's the difference between a colorado blade and a willow blade on a spinnerbait? It's 5:00am on a cool spring morning. My number gets called, I fire up my engine and run 70mph down the lake to my favorite spot and all I can think is, 'I wonder what I'm gunna do with that prize money.' At the end of the day I look at the leader board and see my name on top...right above all those LUCKY people". I wish every good ol' boy fisherman I know could have been there to see their jaws drop to the floor.
