We’ve all heard the phrase,” Take a Kid Fishing”, but have you ever taken your girlfriend or wife out for a day on the water. This could either backfire or work out in your favour, should you give it a try. Most female partners resent the fact that guys would rather be out on the lake fishing than spending quality time with them at home. What’s wrong with spending quality time with them while fishing and catching a few fish at the same time! This could also save a lot of unnecessary arguments should you choose to give it a try. There’s a strong chance that they may just be happy you asked them and say, “no thank you, but have a great day without me”! Either way, it’s a win, win situation if you just think about it. If you’re real lucky, you might have a new fishing partner like I do, for life! Each year on my anniversary, my wife requests that we spend it fishing for a few days. Tough job, but somebody has to do it and no, she doesn’t have a sister! There are a lot more women who enjoy fishing than most of us realize and I see this all the time. In my line of work as a fishing guide, I see this more & more each year. I’ve even had guys book a day just for their wife because they loved to fish! Recently I had the pleasure of fishing with a friend/client’s girlfriend because he had to work. After the unbelievable day she had, I had to take him out a couple of days later too. This time out, she joined us as well as did my wife and we all had a blast! Although it was cold, the fishing kept us all warm along with the numbers of big fish we caught. It was great to be able to spend time with our partners while fishing at the same time. Although this may not be for everyone, I suggest the next time you need to find an excuse to hit the lake, you think about giving this a try. You might just be surprised at the, “Catch of The Day”!
