I fish anywhere there is water. No fishing No trespassing, gotta catch me first,I'm not looking to clean out anyones water I just want to take a picture with my buddy the bass.My fiance's brother and I snuck into a sand pit on sunday, the only day of the week no one is there, looking for bass. I've been there quite a few times and pulled out some big ones plus they have six lakes. So we were strolling the shores casting a spinnerbait in high hopes. Outta knowhere a strike jolted my senses and bent my tip.I'm fighting with what felt like a monster and when it came about 10 to 15 feet off the shore CRACK my pole broke into 3 pieces and the fish vanished to the depths.WHAT THE FFFFF I thought. In the spring and summer I always keep 2 rods and a tackle box in my car but from where we were at it was about a 40 minute walk back.I put the broken pieces in my box and looking at my fiances brother laughing while I'm holding a reel and about 2 feet of rod with one ring. He offered to just go back and call it a day but I wasn't ready. I tied on a crankbait and just kept casting. I ended up out fishing him with my stump of a rod.I landed 4 bigmouths about 2-3 pounds a piece, and each one felt like a state record. All in all it was a good day, a minor setback, but the fish sure did feel bigger.
