Well Made it out today on the ice. (December 2).We had a pretty good snow storm last nite and got a bit of snow so i was extra cautious today as we ventured out. My buddy Brock and I decided to hit the lake late this after noon as we had lots of shoveling to do. We walked out and checked the ice about every 30-50 feet. We found a consistant 3 1/2-4 inches. We ended up fishing about 2pm and fished till 4:15pm and We had a VERY productive day. Brock had 2 crappies on the ice before i finished the 3 other holes with the hand auger. I hurried and got 6 fish on the ice then i started to rig up my new Northland Tackle Trick Stick "Pro Series" rod. So while i was spooling some line on, i ended up catching 2 more fish. Once i had the Trick Stick all rigged up with line and a Northland Tackle Sluprie panfish tube in Silver Shiner Color. (Yes back to old Faithful as most of you know me.) Once i hooked a fish with my new rod, i was in Heaven. This rod worked AMAZING. It has wonderful sensitivity and GREAT Action. I had done some switching with my tackle and tried some new Northland jigs i purchased, with the hottest jigs being the Panfish Slurpies, Doodle Bugs, and Creep Worms. Another Hot jig was a GENZ worm by Lindy Tackle i believe. I was catching so many that my buddy got mad and asked what i was using so i finally gave in and gave him a "Small" assortment of what was working for me and as soon as he tied up, He said "Where can i pick some of these up?" I just had to laugh and informed him. He was struggling as he was trying everything he had but nothing was workin for him, till he asked for a jig and then he ended up with 9 nice crappies and a Walleye we had to let go. I ended up with 12 crappies and a walleye that i kept and looking forward to heading out again this weekend. See the pics in my First Ice 2007 Album....
