Rodney (US)

I'm a native Floridian and I grew up fishing the St. John's River.I live in Bradenton Fl. now and I have been building saltwater boats for a living. Saltwater fishing has become my second addiction.

A unbleiveable 3 days on the St. Johns River.Welaka Fl. at River Bend Resort. This river is stuck in time.I grew up fishing here. Just the accomadations have changed. Much improved. We boated over 500 shellcracker and bluegill in 2 1/2 days of fishing. We just kept. 325. All fillet size. It's great to be a kid just for a moment. Several pics posted. This is one of the best places to vist and go fishing on brackish water in Florida.Wild deer, turkeys, bald eagles, ospreys, manatees, thousand of gators, is just some of the wildlife you will see. Fishing includes,True stripers from the Atlantic, crappie, huge largemouth bass, channel cats, bluegill, shellcracker, river bream, mullet, bluecrab, and sometimes in winter you can even catch redfish ,all in the same area.So much opportuntity.Such a large river. It's hard to make choices. This trip we just focus on panfish.Great fishing trip that will be stuck in time, just like this river.
