It has become a yearly tradition that our company, Myrtle Beach Electric, takes the employees out on a deep sea fishing trip on a private charter, New Billy Boy out of Little River, SC. We have always enjoyed great success in catching a large amount of fish on each of our trips. One year we even went trawling and caught 24 king mackrel and some dolphin fish (Mahi-Mahi).

I have always enjoyed these trips and have never had any problems taking them...except this time. About 45 minutes into our trip I became very aware of an arising problem. It was at this point that I discovered what I have witnessed countless others refer to as "sea sickness". This being the case, and without any objections from my fellow fishermen, I reseverd a small section of the railing on the side of the boat to practice my newfound hobby....Deep Sea Ralphin.

It was amazing to me the supportive words of encouragement that my fellow fishers offered to me as I begin to learn more about my newfound hobby. First of all let me say that I sincerely hope that no one ever be forced to participate in this event that lasted me for a mere 9 hours. If, however, you find yourself entered into this event, you too may wish to take the advice given to me by my fellow hobbyist, Mr. T Jay Turner, who also participated in the Deep Sea Ralphin tournament that day. T Jay, who was a golden gloves boxer for many years said, and I quote "if you are getting the crap beat out of you just STAY DOWN!"

My catch total that day was merely limited to one black sea bass which was too small to keep and I could barely reel him in. The 8 foot seas rolling all day kept me totally involved in the Deep Sea Ralphin tournament that eventually 7 men out of 11 joined before the days end. I think next year maybe I will suggest the company goes on a nice trip to the bowling alley. You can see some of the older pictures and footage from previous trips and coming soon from the last Ralphin tourney 2008 at the following web page on the "events" section of :
