This year I have changed up my approach to attacking Largemouths. My primary arsenal for bass has been using chigger craw trailers and Rapalas. Although very effective, I havent been getting the quality of bass that I have desired as a bass fisherman. This year I have been incorporating more crankbaits, big Spro swimbaits, big topwater style baits and weedless frogs on the mats. Using these different techniques has proven to me that changing up the approach has been given me more quality size bass than ever before. The hits are fewer but the quality is there when I do get them. One thing I know is that you have to have patience when using sizable lures especially when you are tossing out huge swimbaits. But if you can withstand casting 30 to 40 times without getting a hit, perseverance will pay off eventually. It only takes one hit to get that big fish you have been trying for. And this year I have caught more big bass than the previous yrs combined. And it has taken alot of patience and getting skunked often. But its been a great year for me so far and the fishing is only going to get better as the weather turns cooler. So dont be afraid to change up what you normally do. Theres a big bass out there waiting for that right presentation. It's worked for me and it will work for you too. All it takes is a little bit of patience. Keep a tight line out there.... E Miner
