TMAS (US)

 My buddy Brock was buggin' me to take him out one last time for Tiger Musky. He's been a fishin' buddy of mine since he was only 3 years old...now he's 10. He didn't have school today for parent conferences so we loaded up early and headed out. We were the only guys on the lake...and the mercury read -2 when we got out there. Brock was so bound and determined he was going to catch a Tiger today...he's never caught anything bigger than a 18" trout and he's been going nuts lookin at my Tiger pictures. We went to a new spot I've been fishing and the whole time he kept sayin' we shoud go back to the old spot. I told him if we were patient and just sat still we would get a tiger sooner or later! We had some fun catchin' some perch and 'gills for a few hours. The fishing died though but Brock didn't mind..."i'm gonna sit here till I catch a tiger" he'd say. We got bored and started tryin' some different things to try gettin' the perch to bite...the whole time keeping a close eye on the musky rods. I told him we probably weren't gonna get one and we should clean up...I said i'd take him out there once the ice melted off to try again. But Brock cut out a perch eyeball and put it on a jig I told him was worthless. He dropped it down and I marked a fish on the finder! Seconds later he set the hook, and then got a confused look on his face...he pulled on it and it didn't move so he went to hand me the rod "its snagged" he said. Right then....ZZZZZZZZIINNG! It took off. "You got your MUSKY!" I yelled. It took over five minutes but he finally pulled through his biggest fish EVER! It was a beautiful 32" tiger! The hard hike back to the truck and the whole drive home he was smilin' ear to ear, I could've slapped his sunburnt face and he'd still be smilin! When we got home he looked at me and said "I wanna catch another one!" Haha...I've created a MONSTER!
