I miss Chocolate Bayou......Thats were my roots are.Growing up on the coast was quite an experience.We could run up the Bayou towards "The Dam",were Fresh and Salt met;Catch MONSTER Blue cats,Bass,and Crappie or,Run towards the Bay for Reds,Flounder,and Trout(Seatrout).Heck, there would be times that the Reds would be biting and BAM!Largemouth.Last September, my Dad,nephew,and I were fishing in the mouth of the Bayou for Reds and Trout and were catching a few.I was tossing a "Sliding Rattle Cork"rigged with a D.O.A. shrimp lure and after catching a few Schoolies,I casted way out towards the channel and commenced to "Popping".After about 3 or 4 'Pops',It dissapeared.Fish on!I just knew I hooked a good Red.After about 2 min the'Red"sufaced and turned out to be a 4' Black Tip Shark.Soon as he saw the boat,he screamed off another 100 yds.of line."Keep that S.O.B.outta my boat"my Dad yelled.lol.Luckily,he did'nt chew the line off.Finally,I got that toothy critter calmed down enough to use a hook-out to set him free.You never know what your going to catch on the BAYOU..........
