 Well I tried to upload a picture of this accident for all to see, but couldn't. Well this story all starts out like this, My wife and me went to go prefishing for a tournment that I had the next week. While we were driving to my spot to fish ( High Falls res. in Marinette County WI) My wife told me that we were not going to stay on the water as long as I usually stay out. (usually 4-8 hours) And that when she wanted to go we were going to go. Well we got to the launch and it was very full of people, waited our turn to launch the bass boat, and proceeded to my favorite spot. It was so busy with boats due to being July 5, 2008. I proceeded to make about 4 casts while mumbling some naughty things under my breath from all the boats and jet skies zooming by. I finally decided to leave and go and fish a quiter spot. When I got there just my luck another boat with a family towing three water tubes with little kids behind. This made for a very wavy time to try and fish, but I made the best of it. I made a flip with a pig and jig next to a tree branch, and was meet immediately with a tap on my line. The next part is something out of a bad dream!! The fish immediatly jumped in the air and spit the pig and jig, which proceeded to sail threw the air towards me which I couldn't get out the way fast enough, I with my bad luck caught the 1/2 oz 4ought mustad ultra point hook threw the bottom of my lip and it embedded in the top of my upper lip. My wife who saw it all happen tried to see how bad I was hooked, but couldn't get it out!!! So I had to drive the boat back to the launch for she dosen't know how to drive my boat. When I got to the launch I saw that the water patrol had there boat trailer there. I had her call on her cell phone to get a hold of them, which in turn the Crivitze Rescue squade came but they couldn't get it out. I had to go to Marinette to the hospital where after 8 shots of novacane and my lips bigger than Angalina Jollie's LOL the doctor tried to cut the wire with a side cutters, but couldn't succed in cutting the wire on the hook. The doctor said that is was a strong hook, which in turn while tring to mumble threw both lips all most pinned together it should be it's a mustad ultra point hook custome made for me from Micro Munch Tackle. He then said he was going to need something stronger which he then proceeded to pull out a sterile 16" pair of line mans pliers which he finally cut the hook which held my lips captive for about 2 hours. After the whole ordeal I needed only one stitch in my bottom lip to seal the hole. While in the ER room I looked at my lovely wife and said well was that a short enough stay on the water for you. LOL After the whole story I tell people the all ask well did you get the fish? And I think about the Comedian who says here's your sign, for if I would have got the fish I wouldn't have caught my self in the lip from the hook flying out, Right?
