As I see that most of the members here are "I am a fishing Nut". I mainly fish intercoastal eastern central Florida. I do not own a boat right now so I find all of the local places that I can fish for big fish from shore or pier.

I just had to add a short story about these wonderful fish and the wonderful people that helped me get to them.

In May of 2008 I took a very long awaited (and well deserved) vacation to Alaska's outstanding fishing grounds. I have always wanted to do some fishing for the Huge Barn Door Halibut. After doing a lifetime of research I finally found the right place and the right time. I left the how up to chance at the last minute (and was very lucky) .The place was Hoonah Alaska (Icy strait Point on most Royal carribean cruises). My charter was DreamfishAlaska.com Frank and Margie were a lot of fun even before we started fishing. Once we got on the water they showed that they were very skilled guides and put our crew on fish within a few minutes of dropping lines. Before our half day was done we had boated several fish including 3 over 40 lbs (see photos) Anyone who wants a real thrill will have to go experience it for themselves. Fish ON!!
