I'm a native Floridian and I grew up fishing the St. John's River.I live in Bradenton Fl. now and I have been building saltwater boats for a living. Saltwater fishing has become my second addiction.

The snapper bite has been on for the last two months in South Tampa Bay. Heck,I even forgot to fish for speckle-trout during the tournament. This was my personal best inshore.20 inches-5 pounds. I have caught them up to 9 pounds down in the Keys and way offshore. I have never seen them this big in Tampa Bay. We were fishing "The Cans" at the Skyway close to the shipping channel. We caught our limit of mangroves and lane snapper.

Dang Rodney, that's a big Mangrove for inshore! We've caught a few 2+ pounders out at Canaveral and down in the keys, but nothing that big. I bet it tasted great!
