Fishbonz (US)'s Profile > Stories > 10,000 Lake Maps Online!
Yeah ok so that is only part of the story, read on to find out! I've been fishing my whole life, I use to tag along with my father by the time I could walk and he introduced me to bass fishing, and needless to say ever since I have been hooked. That was back in Alabama, since I've been living in California for the past 12 years, moved out here because as a computer person this was the technology capital of the world. Hey I learned to trout fish which was something we didn't have in Alabama.Anyway, on with the story. I decided to combine my computer skills I had obtained over the years with my passion for fishing, and opened a couple of sites. One is http://www.reelschematic.com , which has over 9,000 reel schematics from all the major manufacturers and some not so major! This is the largest single collection of schematics anywhere on the Internet, and to top it off I added marine motor and trolling motor schematics. There are no fees to get the schematics, and I have been very fortunate to have so many anglers praise the site. The second one http://www.shorelineangler.com , which I just opened about 2 months ago, and work is still being completed, which will house over 10,000 freshwater lake maps from across the U.S., these are complete bathymetric maps. There will also be high-definition maps available upon request for any of the lakes. The site primarily started as a shore fishing site because I have fished from the shore for many years and there was nothing out there available for angles that did not own a boat, but it has started to evolve into something much more, not quite sure where it is going yet but it seems to be taking off very good. |
